Yeeeee Haaaawww!

Labor Day Weekend is always a fun time up in Parawon, Utah!  Here's a little recap!

Horseback riding up at Brianhead with Cowboy Mike.  If you yell "Yee Haw,"  he is sure to yell with you!

Wyatt steered the horse for most one the one hour ride!

You have to stop at the Iron County Fair and Carnival.  Nothing like putting your son's life in the hands of a carnee!

This was new this year, Aqua Boats!  For $3.50 you can torment poor college students as they stand in the freezing water and cold wind to make sure your child doesn't fall over board!

We love the Iron County Parade!  Bring on the taffy!

A Full Circle Moment

On her last season of her show, Oprah Winfrey often referred to special events in her life as "full circle moments."  Moments that reminded her of where she came from and what inspired her many years before, then to have something special happen to remind her how far she's come.  I had my full circle moment on August 29th, 2011.  I worked so hard as a Kindergarten teacher, I loved that job with all my heart, but when Wyatt came, I knew it was time to leave and spend my energy, not taking care of other people's children, but taking care of my own.  And now, Wyatt is a kindergartener.  A bright eyed, full of wonder, eager to please, in social heaven KINDERGARTENER and he is my full circle moment!  For 2 1/2 hours, 5 days a week, I leave my best friend, my side kick, and my at home comedian with a kind teacher and friendly little faces.  I was a nervous wreck, to say the least.  I am certain that's why Heavenly Father sent me Carter when he did.  Before I got pregnant, people would ask me, "What are you going to do while Wyatt is in school?"  I would swallow hard and reply, "I have no idea."  But Heavenly Father knew exactly what would fill my time the best.  Carter and I do really well keeping each other busy for those 2 1/2 hours!  And even though we had our doubts about being alone with each other, Wyatt had faith in us.

Wyatt was beyond excited the morning of the first day of school. I had to keep reminding him it wasn't time to go yet. He did great. No tears from him or me, and a fun day was had by all. I'm so blessed to have a boy like Wyatt, a happy, outgoing little man who is willing to try new things and loves to enjoy life! I love you Wyatt! It's going to be a great year!

A Blessed Weekend

On the weekend of August 20th we celebrated Carter and his baby blessing in church that Sunday.  It felt great to have family and friends come over to my parents house that Saturday for a swim party and a BBQ.  It was a really good turnout and all the kids seemed to enjoy themselves splashing in the water while the adults all visited and relaxed.  Carter was passed around to every g-ma, aunt, or honorary aunt that would hold him.  But his little buddy Aaron (Wendi's sweet babe) was passed around and loved on too so no one would feel neglected!  We had a delicious taco buffet with grilled selections provided by none other than KB and topped off with a sweet ice cream sundae buffet!

Sunday was Carter's blessing.  He wore an adorable off-white blessing romper.  Byron gave the blessing and said so many wonderful things of what Carter would become.  What stood out in my mind was when Byron asked that Carter would always look for the positive and be a peace to those around him.  Wyatt and I were able to participate on Sunday by joining the choir to sing "Teach Me to Walk in the Light."  Our great afternoon was concluded with a family picture of both sides of the family, which I don't think we've had done since our wedding.  It was a lovely, simple weekend and it was all devoted to Carter!
