"I Can" Moment

You might have read a post on my preggo blog that I wrote last night at 2 AM, ranting about the "I can't" moments I seem to keep having because of this pregnancy.  Most moments because I have been having uncomfortable contractions and I'm scared to move, or I'll be put on bedrest, which is stupid because I've allowed my fear to put me on bedrest anyway.  Soooo, I am trying to find "I CAN!" moments so I don't completely lose my mind.  One fear of going on bedest is not being able to do things with Wyatt or take care of him.  My "I CAN" moment was helping Wyatt create a puppet stage with marionette puppets.  He loved it, and it is still a work in progress!

4 No More!

My baby is five years old.  Did you read that correctly?  FIVE YEARS OLD!  The thought nauseates me.  I'm certain that's why Heavenly Father sent me down this new baby, because He knew I wouldn't be able to handle Wyatt turning five very well, or everything that comes with it...like Kindergarten in the Fall.  Don't even get me started on that one.  But, I am so very grateful for the wonderful five year old that Wyatt is.  Sometimes he sounds like he's 18 when he speaks.  He has a hilarious sense of humor.  He takes care of me better than most adults do.  And the boy has a smile that gets him out of any punishment or consequence I can think of.  That same smile is going to melt a lot of girls' hearts.

Wyatt's birthday weekend started off with a special birthday lunch Friday with his Gramma Jeri.  She picked him up and took him to his favorite trendy restaurant, McDonald's!  Then it was a picnic at the park and opening presents.  It was really special for Wyatt!

Wyatt's latest fascination is Super Heroes.  Not just one super hero, but ALL super heroes.  So that was the theme of his party.  With some dollar store
t-shirts and remnant fabric, I silk screened some "Super Kid" shirts for the kids to wear and made some capes, and some goodie bags with IronWyatt on the topper.

We wanted a pinata, but I was not in the mood to spend $20 on something that was going to get beat to smitherings, so we made one ourselves!  Good old paper mache, a balloon, and some paint somehow turned into Ironman's mask.  At first it was so messy, but the more I worked on it, the more I got into it and I started wondering what other things I could Paper mache.  That may be a future post!  Stay tuned!

I know it doesn't sound like it, but I had to make the party itself simple.  God did not make my body to be pregnant.  My body doesn't like it.  And to those mothers that just feel all glowing and magical when they are pregnant, you know, the ones who sing, "Oh I just loved being pregnant, and all my regular clothes fit me all 9 months" well, I do not like you and I metaphorically spit on you.  Sorry, not on topic.  Anyways, I didn't want this party to put me into labor, but I wasn't going to not make it special either.  So I invested in a bounce house rental.  It was the best money I ever spent!  I had the pinata and a couple of other games as a back up, but we didn't need any of it.  We barely had time for the pinata!  The kids wore their "Super Kids" t-shirts and bounced for almost one and a half hours straight!  It was great!  We had that bounce house for 10 hours.  Wyatt laid down enough for a nap, and then was bouncing away again that afternoon, along with a soon to be 40 year old child named Byron!  I even got in there and sat down, all the while yelling, "Please don't bounce the baby out!  Please don't bounce the baby out!"
After party #1, there was party #2 with Grammy, Pappa, and Nini.  Wyatt's special birthday dinner was Salmon and green beans (weird kid!) with Hot Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert.  And of course more presents!  It was a great day!  And we were still in bed on time!  Which makes it even better!  I love my five year old!

Let's Go Rebels! Let's Go!

Well, we finished another season of Rebel basketball.  It may not have been the Rebs' best season, but it was a ton of fun for us as a family to go our once or twice a week and enjoy a game.  We were able to enjoy some great nights with Byron's nephew, Stephen, before he moved off to Santa Monica for work.  And we made great friends with the other season ticket holders around us.    We even traveled up to Provo to wear as much red as possible among all those white and blue Cougars!  As was last year, the best part of the season was Senior Night, when we were able to go onto the court after the game and get autographs from our favorite players.  Now with the Mountain West Tournament getting ready to start, its time to sit back and see how far our boys can go!

Wyatt's future coach, perhaps?
