Trick or Treat!

We had a great night spending time together for Halloween. If you haven't figured it out, Wyatt dressed up as Diego, I was his sister, Alicia, and Byron was Diego's dad, the animal scientist. However, while trick or treating, if the people didn't know who Diego was, they just saw Byron in his hunting clothes and thought we were all on safari, with Wyatt wearing an odd felt wig. Most of the kids knew what Wyatt was and that was all that mattered. We ended the day having breakfast for dinner (our favorite indulgence these days) and I watched in amazement as my little Diego ate a plate and a half of scrambled eggs and dutch babies. It was a great day and so perfect as just our little family.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is my favorite holiday and it has been really fun to see that Wyatt is old enough to figure it out and express an interest in it. Here are some fun things we did to celebrate:

  • Pumpkin carving (Wyatt REFUSED to touch the pumpkin guts)
  • Played with glow in the dark bracelets

  • New Halloween books from the Target dollar section every night this week

  • Watched a Diego Halloween video

  • Went to Candil Hall's (my old school) Halloween carnival

  • Went to a nearby Pumpkin Patch and Carnival with Grammy, Pappa, and Nini (Wyatt loved the roller coaster, my little thrill seeker, and we ALL rode the train that took us through the Boca Park parking lot. That was hilarious as we drove by fancy people eating at Gordon Birsch and the Cheesecake Factory.)

Tonight will be trick or treating at our ward party and then in the neighborhood. We all get dressed up as a family, so more pictures to come!

I Feel Loved

Wow, 6 comments! And that's not counting the number of actual emails I got asking how I was feeling. I'm going to start begging for more attention more often! Seriously folks, thanks for the love. I am feeling better, still a stuffy nose, but thanks to a great ENT, Dr. Walter Schoerder, when I blow my nose, EVERYTHING comes out! That may be a little too graphic for you, but he is a really good doctor! He put in the tubes in Wyatt's ears, and did it so fast we got in trouble for leaving to eat breakfast in the hospital cafeteria!

Ok, I am rambling, perhaps I am still tired, or it could be the glue remover fumes I am smelling. I have (as of right now) 17 phrases of "Peace on Earth" to cut from my Cricut cutter for our Enrichment night and glue made the rollers stop moving right. From a combination of machines not working, cold medicine, and sleep deprivation I almost had a nervous breakdown, but I think I have it all fixed now.
It was an odd week, not feeling well, but still needing to get things done, and doing them in a haze. But the grocery stores were having some really good sales, and I got some great bargains on stuff for our food storage. For some reason I have had this feeling of urgency to get more food to take care of our little family. Maybe it is the economy going down the tubes, or my fear that we will soon have a Democratic president who will give all of our hard earned money to welfare people who keep finding excuses not to get a job (please don't send me a comment about that), however, I looked at my small but well stocked pantry and told Byron, "Well, if the world ended tomorrow, we've got food that will last us for 3 months and more!" He was happy, so I did my job.
Wyatt sorted these cans all by himself. Don't want to brag, but that is a pre-k skill. My guys only 2 and 1/2.
We are excited that Halloween is coming. We attended Ginger's Fall Festival at her kids' school. She rocks at being the PTA president and makes me realize that I have NO desire to be in her shoes. I just want to be a room mom.
Miranda face painting a pumpkin! So cute!

Who is that scarecrow?

I've got to get to bed. Sorry for my ramblings. I will be more coherent next time!

All Stuffed Up

I can't stand it when I am sick. Sore throat, stuffed up nose, my world is in a fog. Though I am thankful that I don't have a job to call in sick, or most likely, just muttle through, I still have things to do and I'm just too tired and in a haze to do them. Bring on the OJ and the tissues. I'm going to bed.

Last Post For the Night!

At Byron's urging, I have to put more hunting pictures up on the blog. My dad had a great opportunity to go elk hunting in Northern Utah. Just take a look at these gorgeous shots Byron took. He is so talented. Be warned, dead animals are at the end of this post. Sad news is Byron left his beloved pillow at the lodge and his sleep has never been the same since.

Please check my previous posts for some great pictures of my boys and some of my friends have been tagged. See if it was you!

Animal Rights Activists Beware!

Hope none of you are too squeamish. Here is a picture of Byron's deer that he hunted a few weeks ago. The pictures are really just for Steve in Japan and Tony in Utah. Enjoy!

Byron and his friend, Shawn.

Just Braggin' About My Boy!

No fabulous news to share, or big trips to go on. Wyatt looked especially handsome this morning for his new preschool class and I wanted to share his face with the world! Enjoy!
