Amazing Family Reunion

We just finished a whirlwind weekend of Family and Outings and Food!  This year was the third annual Olaf Holman Christoffersen Bird Hunt and Family Reunion.  Family members from Oklahoma, San Fransisco, Santa Monica, Seattle, and Salt Lake City all flew in to honor Byron's dad, Chris.  Around this time, 4 years ago, Byron was able to take his dad on one last bird hunting trip, and then we said goodbye to Chris that following May.  As a tribute to him, Byron's brother Carl thought of gathering every year around this time and hunting birds, and remembering one of Chris's favorite pastimes.  This year was our biggest group yet, 22 family members ranging in ages from 3 months old to 70-something.  Friday morning was spent on a 3 mile hike at Red Rock, which I was very nervous about.  I wasn't planning on finishing it, but was able to!  After an afternoon rest, Grandma Jeri and family prepared a delicious meal on chicken enchiladas and taco soup.  Saturday was the big hunt.  We headed down to The Big Cottonwood Game Ranch where family members enjoyed a beautiful day walking the fields, watching the dogs find pheasants for the mighty "hunters" to shoot.  We then returned to my house for a "linner" of pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, and other fixins.  The menfold then attended the UNLV-San Diego basketball game, while the women went to their separate "homes" to get their kids bathed and everyone, including themselves, into bed!  It was a long, but wonderful day!
