Gone Viral

Its been a year since we announced that I was pregnant with Carter, and if you haven't seen the video, then enjoy!  It was really fun to do.  Well, I guess the website Motherglow.com discovered it and showcased it for thier Thanksgiving post.  Motherglow.com is a website that shows different families aanouncing they are having a baby.  Kind of crazy to think I've gone a very tiny bit viral!

Just an update:  I was recently contacted by a Japanese TV production company, asking to use my video on a new show they were developing!  Little Wyatt is going to be a Japanese celebrity!  HA!

Want to send an energetic boy away and get an exhausted one in return?

Then send him and his dad to the Air Show at the Nellis Air Force Base!  Wyatt and Byron had a great time, but with all the planes to explore, the loud jets zooming by, and the long hours, you are sure to get one tired boy by the end of the day!  Hooray for me!  I wish there were Air Shows every weekend!  HA!

Just in case you had any doubt...

...Yeah, I know...He's pretty dang handsome!

A Nevada Day Tradition

We've started to create a neat little transition of going to Disneyland for Halloween.  Its a great weekend to go, since the kids are out of school for Nevada Day.  And thankfully, Californians don't celebrate Nevada Day, so the park is less crowded!  (However, I did just realize it is a little twisted to celebrate Nevada Day in a totally different state, probably not a good way to support our economy!  Oh well!)  This time we invited my parents, Connie and KB (or Grammy and Pappa, if your talking to Wyatt) to come with us.  Halloween is one of Mom's favorite times of year so I knew she'd enjoy it, and after all the health issues KB has dealt with this year, going with him was like going with a brand new dad!  He would go speed walking for 1 to 2 miles BEFORE we all headed to Disneyland, then spend the day walking through the park.  It was a lot of fun to run into old and new friends every so often since they were all celebrating Nevada Day too.  The weather was gorgeous.  There were new rides and things to see, like the World of Color (which even I hadn't gone to see yet) and fun things like sticking Mom on the Goofy's Sky School after leading her to believe it was a fun simple ride.  Hee hee!

HAllOweEn FuN!

This October went by in a blur.  I usually have a lot of fun Halloween crafts planned for Wyatt, but this time, before I knew it, Halloween weekend was here and I was having to schedule in pumpkin carving and cookie making, and a trip to Disneyland all in a very small pocket of time.  Thankfully though, we were still able to create some great memories and enjoy the Halloween festivities.

We always make time for pumpkin carving.  Byron and I get really into it too, trying to make the best design.  Our tradition is that there has to be a pumpkin for each member of the family...even the dogs!  It was exciting and surreal to add another pumpkin for our new "little punkin,'" Carter!

Jack (Wyatt's) and Oogie Boogie (Byron's)

Phineas (Sommer's), a Bat (Carter's) and the gourd puppies (Duke and Da Vinci)
Phineas and Perry the Platypus ready for some trick or treating!

Wyatt and his friend Dylan at the school Halloween parade

Our haunted house we set up every year for the trick or treaters

The Halloween party at our neighbors before going out trick or treating as a huge group.
It was a great night!

M.I.A.

I've been thinking about why I haven't been blogging my random thoughts lately and I have come to the conclusion that there are no random thoughts in my head.  I'm too exhausted to have any!  I think I am going brain dead!  :)

Hey Ferb...I know What We're Gonna Do Today!

We're gonna dress up like these guys...

...and head to the Trunk R' Treat looking like this...

Look closely, Byron let me spray his hair green!

Carter just loves being Perry.

I know what we're gonna do today!

Does anyone think Wyatt might have some issues with shyness?

Hey, Where's Perry?

Yeeeee Haaaawww!

Labor Day Weekend is always a fun time up in Parawon, Utah!  Here's a little recap!

Horseback riding up at Brianhead with Cowboy Mike.  If you yell "Yee Haw,"  he is sure to yell with you!

Wyatt steered the horse for most one the one hour ride!

You have to stop at the Iron County Fair and Carnival.  Nothing like putting your son's life in the hands of a carnee!

This was new this year, Aqua Boats!  For $3.50 you can torment poor college students as they stand in the freezing water and cold wind to make sure your child doesn't fall over board!

We love the Iron County Parade!  Bring on the taffy!

A Full Circle Moment

On her last season of her show, Oprah Winfrey often referred to special events in her life as "full circle moments."  Moments that reminded her of where she came from and what inspired her many years before, then to have something special happen to remind her how far she's come.  I had my full circle moment on August 29th, 2011.  I worked so hard as a Kindergarten teacher, I loved that job with all my heart, but when Wyatt came, I knew it was time to leave and spend my energy, not taking care of other people's children, but taking care of my own.  And now, Wyatt is a kindergartener.  A bright eyed, full of wonder, eager to please, in social heaven KINDERGARTENER and he is my full circle moment!  For 2 1/2 hours, 5 days a week, I leave my best friend, my side kick, and my at home comedian with a kind teacher and friendly little faces.  I was a nervous wreck, to say the least.  I am certain that's why Heavenly Father sent me Carter when he did.  Before I got pregnant, people would ask me, "What are you going to do while Wyatt is in school?"  I would swallow hard and reply, "I have no idea."  But Heavenly Father knew exactly what would fill my time the best.  Carter and I do really well keeping each other busy for those 2 1/2 hours!  And even though we had our doubts about being alone with each other, Wyatt had faith in us.

Wyatt was beyond excited the morning of the first day of school. I had to keep reminding him it wasn't time to go yet. He did great. No tears from him or me, and a fun day was had by all. I'm so blessed to have a boy like Wyatt, a happy, outgoing little man who is willing to try new things and loves to enjoy life! I love you Wyatt! It's going to be a great year!

A Blessed Weekend

On the weekend of August 20th we celebrated Carter and his baby blessing in church that Sunday.  It felt great to have family and friends come over to my parents house that Saturday for a swim party and a BBQ.  It was a really good turnout and all the kids seemed to enjoy themselves splashing in the water while the adults all visited and relaxed.  Carter was passed around to every g-ma, aunt, or honorary aunt that would hold him.  But his little buddy Aaron (Wendi's sweet babe) was passed around and loved on too so no one would feel neglected!  We had a delicious taco buffet with grilled selections provided by none other than KB and topped off with a sweet ice cream sundae buffet!

Sunday was Carter's blessing.  He wore an adorable off-white blessing romper.  Byron gave the blessing and said so many wonderful things of what Carter would become.  What stood out in my mind was when Byron asked that Carter would always look for the positive and be a peace to those around him.  Wyatt and I were able to participate on Sunday by joining the choir to sing "Teach Me to Walk in the Light."  Our great afternoon was concluded with a family picture of both sides of the family, which I don't think we've had done since our wedding.  It was a lovely, simple weekend and it was all devoted to Carter!
