I cuddled up in bed last night to watch a movie and to stay up for the 11 o'clock news. I knew Byron would be working and too busy to call. I just had to see how he was doing. The camera zoomed in on his face as he stood there, overseeing the many busy workers digging, placing in pipes, and just buzzing around like worker bees. I could see from the view of the camera the tired eyes of Byron. He looked exhausted and I had no idea how much longer he had to go. I also saw my father, and though there never was a good shot of his face, and knew for a fact that my dad had to be drained as well. That poor man's normal bedtime is 8:30 PM!
I heard Byron come in around 1:30 or 2 o'clock, actually a lot sooner than I had anticipated. I didn't ask much, and just let him collapsed into bed, gave him a squeeze, and I think he fell asleep as soon as he hit the pillow. I hope he did.
I'm trying to keep the house quiet. I took out all the things I needed to get ready and put them in Wyatt's bedroom. I even put sheets over our blinds in the bedroom to keep the room darker, longer. I snuck out early, so no child or dog would wake him. Byron has to be back on the job later today, and I want him to sleep as long as possible.
