Open Mouth, Insert Foot

So Wyatt has come down with foot and mouth disease. It sounds like something a cow should have, but he has it and it is making us all miserable. I value my sleep, and we go to bed early in our home. So here it is, a quarter to midnight, and Wyatt has been screaming for way over an hour now, and we have no way to help him. Just Tylenol and mouth numbing medicine which must sting because it makes him scream more. I am exhausted, frustrated, and feeling a little like panicking. He is restless and no bed, mine or his, is comfortable. It is times like this that Byron and I discover our different parenting styles. As mean as it may seem, I want to leave him in his crib, after giving him medicine and a few kind words, and allow him to "cry it out." Eventually he will tire himself and go to sleep. Byron wants him in the bed with us to try to console him. Neither method is working well, which just makes us more frustrated with each other. My neck is hurting from a pinched nerve which hurts even when I yawn (not helping my situation). I know there are much bigger problems in the world, and I'm complaining about losing a few hours sleep, but when you are sleep deprived, nothing else seems to matter. It is quiet down the hall. Maybe Byron's method worked after all. Just don't tell him that. Good night.

That does not sound like fun.
Som, Remember that you are not alone suz and I have our difference in parenting and Its always good to have a open mind. It is ok to have Byron be "Right" every now and then.. Makes him fell better.
