Ok, this post may really upset some people, both family and friends... are you ready... you might have to sit down for this one...
I cannot stand BYU. I'm sorry, I know. All you truly devoted Mormons are probably down on your knees begging that the lightening that hits me may be swift and merciful. I love it when a
BYU team loses, I don't care who played them, just as long as they lose. And I'm not really that into sports. But even some
BYU grads must admit that they think they are better than everyone else. Come on, fess up! You think that you are going to be translated because you went to
BYU, found your eternal companion in some first semester religion class and got married three days later. Your wedding reception consisted of a
receiving line from 6:30 to 8:45 PM, there was only cookies, red punch, and a jello salad to eat, and you were in your hotel room at the nearby Holiday Inn by 9:15 pm. Why my loathing? I guess it started when a so called friend of my mother asked how she could let her only child attend Satan's college. Well guess what? This alumni of Satan's college is living the Mormon American dream and I didn't even apply to good
ol'
BYU. So with this said, I need your help. Next month we have tickets to the
UNLV-
BYU basketball game and I want to make a shirt. I want to put on a phrase that encompasses who I am, A Rebel Saint, something obnoxious but not (too) offensive. So help me out guys. Leave your comments. What kind of message can I send to those oh so perfect Saints at the game?

Wow...do I note a bit of rebellion there? Hummm... you've posed a great challenge. Let me think about it for a bit. BTW...I didn't go to BYU either and I lived to tell about it! (I seriously don't count Law School)
Oh my gosh Amber, you just gave me another reason to LOVE YOU! We can't stand BYU because mostly the fans are JERKS and think they are better than anyone else. We are UTES and have to hear all the time that good Mormons don't go to the University of Utah and all that crap! Anyway, LOVED your post! Your shirt could say: Go Utes! LOL :)
WTH!!! Why did I call you Amber? I know your name is Sommer! I only know ONE Amber and we are not that close! HAHAHAH Sorry about that! My husband has an idea for your t-shirt but it's not very nice and people will find it offensive, so I decided to keep it to myself! :) Sorry again for calling you Amber, S-O-M-M-E-R! :p
I laughed through the whole post!!! I don't necessarily hate BYU but they do think they are all that and a bag of chips...sorry Craig(my little bro) you know it's true!! I think my bro in law is going to get ticket for us to go with them. I'd love to go to that game and see all the "true mormonism" coming out!!LOL!!!!
Ok so I saw your blog on the park e-mail and being a recent virgin blogger I had to take a look. I have to say I havn't laughed that much in a while. So I quess you could call me a hater too(in a nice way).. You speak the truth... My guess is UNLV will take them.Have you seen the shirt that say "REAL mormons are REBELS!" Thats a good shirt.Well good luck at church, I guess you'll see who your real friends.LOL
Here's one for you- Last winter Brittany was still living in Provo and went to the BYU vs UNLV basketball game with some of her friends that were attending BYU. Well she wore her UNLV sweatshirt to the game. She got booed and security told her she would have to leave unless she took it off. So she took it of, but they weren't to happy to see a UNLV t shirt. By this time there was quite a crowed and she was on the big screen at the game. The Harvey's were there so Jane came and got her to sit with them behind the rebels and with the UNLV fans! So Go Rebels! Have fun at the game-
Some pretty strong words there girl...maybe it's those drugs you are taking. j/k To each his own...I'm true blue and proud of it!
I have read this post a few times now and love it every time! Something like: Satan's college 1 / BYU 0! Or: Real Mormons are Rebels!
I would love to go to that game just to see the soon to be "translated mormons"!!!!!
