I still don't know how I feel about this story. Watch the video and share with me your thoughts. Looks like the Cerdas thought their mortgage would be paid for by going on Extreme Home Makeover. Because clearly a million dollar home with virtually no energy costs isn't enough. Looks like we all got suckered.

Unfortunately I think they were hoping that their mortgage would get paid or medical bills paid like "sometimes" not all the time happens with the show.
How sad after all the hard work and sacrifice of the community they are now asking for more.

What a sad situation. :( I wonder how much they owe on their first mortgage? Maybe they have an adjustable rate mortgage? Not defending them by any means, but hopefully their company will cut them some slack and lower their interest rate or do something so they can continue paying and stay in their beautiful home and be healthy.
They probably should have mentioned that without further financial help they would lose their home, whether it was upgraded or not. Maybe extreme homemakover would have taken that into consideration before choosing them. Or they would have help fund raising rallied like in the past. I feel bad for them but its also their responsibility. Like you, I have mixed feelings.
Aaaaargh! I definitely think they should have disclosed this bit of info before leting EHM take over. What a mess!
It is all a bunch of CRAP!! Don't buy it! Terri makes me so mad!
