Finally, a crafty weekend!

I feel like I can breathe again! Stress, illness, just not feeling well in my skin. I've had it, and I'm thrilled to say I was able to do some spring cleaning and find some time to do things I enjoy! Believe it or not, organizing is one of those things I enjoy. I get a high from throwing things away that have no more purpose in my life. The owners at the school I used to teach at dreaded when I got into one of "those moods" because I'd want to throw away everything and anything that had sat on a shelf longer than a semester in our teacher's lounge. I'd beg and plead with Jhonna and Glenda..."Please no one uses this box of materials or this ripped nasty poster! Let me put it on the dumpster!!!!! PAAAALEASE!!!!!!" I'd get giddy when they'd sigh and glumly say, "OK."
Sadly, life has been so hectic lately that I allowed the mess to go well past some simple organizing sessions. I've only chipped the tip of the iceberg, but it felt so good to purge and reorganize my crafting area. I threw out a couple of bags and a box full of stuff that I don't use anymore, or is just past its prime! The study itself (which is the home of my crafting area) still needs some work. Boxes seem to reproduce like bunnies under Byron's unused drafting table. I'll deal with that perhaps later this week.
Byron was a big help this weekend. All Friday morning he had Wyatt, and with Wyatt's notorious super long naps that he takes, I practically had all day Friday to purge and organize. Saturday was the same deal, Wyatt had a sleepover with his Gramma Jeri in Henderson, and by the time he came home, it was nap time. I was a busy, busy bee!

So how did I reward myself for all this hard work? DVD movie making, Birthday card making, an ACTUAL SCRAPBOOK PAGE of a picture that honestly, I have no idea when it was taken. It was fabulous! The DVD is for my dad's birthday this Monday. It is of our trip to Disneyland, the birthday card is obviously for him too. (Its a good thing Dad has no idea what a blog is, let alone read mine!) Here are some pictures of the projects that made me happy this weekend!
